About Storz

In 1782, after four years of training in Paris, Johann Jacob Storz returned to his hometown of Tuttlingen, Germany, to start a knife-making company. His table knives were soon prized throughout Germany for their fine workmanship and design.

The Storz name continued to be associated with quality craftsmanship as Johann Jacob’s descendants expanded into the design and manufacture of precision surgical instruments, in both Germany and the United States.

Today, Storz Ophthalmics offers a wide range of surgical products, including a full array of microsurgical instruments for ophthalmology. To help surgeons achieve the best outcomes using their preferred techniques, Storz Ophthalmics produces customized instruments for individual surgeons. Designed by surgeons and crafted by Storz Ophthalmics, these instruments truly enable signature performance.
